Paint the White House Black
Best part of today: seeing a black guy on the tube, staring at the front page of the newspaper, grinning and shaking his head in disbelief.
This track came out a few months ago and I actually hadn’t given it alot of thought until reading The Times report about Obama’s Kenyan family this morning, which mentioned hearing the song spilling out of taxis across Nairobi. There’s a kind of joyous optimism here that I like.
